Citronella Candles

History

Citronella candles were introduced in the late to early 1940’s. The plant Cymbopogon Nardus, also known as Lemongrass, is the source of Citronella oil

which has a lemony scent and is yellow to brown in color. Citronella candles have been promoted as an effective way to repel mosquitoes!
